Future Babies - Reading

About Future Babies

Future Babies is an independent ultrasound clinic offering private ultrasound services and ante-natal screening to women.

Our mission is to provide a professional service in a relaxed, friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Firstly, we are extremely selective about the sonographers that carry out our scans. Unfortunately, there are many sonographers woking in the UK, even within the NHS, that we feel are sub standard. They may be qualified, but they are not diligent. We ensure all of our Sonographers are highly competant so that we can be confident that you and your baby are in safe hands. It’s how we sleep at night.

Sadly, not all pregnancies are free of complications so your baby’s well being has to be our main concern. Employing excellent sonographers means that we are more likely to pick up on anything that may be a concern, even during our quick scan sessions. There is no substitute for an experienced and well trained eye looking over the baby whilst trying to get a cute image or confirm the gender.

Once we are happy that baby is healthy and doing well, we can focus on the fun bit… making the experience as lovely as possible for all concerned. We all work here for a reason and it’s not just the money, we work here because we love it. We talk about pregnancy and babies all day long and still feel excited about it. We’re all Mum’s ourselves (some of us Nans too) so we know what you’re going through; the good, the bad and the ugly! It is our absolute privilege to meet so many funny, and wonderful people and share in such a special part of their lives.

We continuously try to increase and improve our services and now offer a wide range of both scanning and screening services, but our focus is still on reassurance, support and sharing the joys and trials of pregnancy and becoming a parent, whether it’s for the first time or the sixth! From pre-conception to delivery, we are here for you.

Thank you for taking the time to find out about us. We hope to meet you soon.

Hypnobirthing Hampshire

About Hypnobirthing Hampshire

Having practised as a midwife for twenty years, it is noticeable that women who are able to stay relaxed during their labours, achieve, shorter, calmer and easier birth experiences. In 2007 I qualified as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and subsequently became a Certified Hypnobirthing Practitioner.

The Course

The full Hypnobirthing Course is five, two hourly sessions. These are held, depending on what time you have available, as four consecutive classes with the fifth class held nearer your due date (as a one-to-one session) so we can refresh Hypnobirth Techniques and discuss breast feeding and bringing your baby home. Shorter courses are available if a refresher is needed, or you have left it a little late for the full course.

Having always felt the birth of a baby is a complete miracle, discovering how Hypnobirthing can empower and enrich a woman’s experience, in such a natural way, only adds to that miracle. Classes are small, two couples maximum, informal and fun and held in a purpose built room at my home. Refreshments are included.

A little bit about me

It was only after the birth of my three sons that I became interested in a career as a Midwife. Although enjoying all aspects of Maternity care my favourite was working in the Community where I have been privileged to deliver many babies in the home setting.

During my experience, time and time again I noticed women who approached labour in a calm, relaxed manner had shorter and less medicalised labours.

For this reason I decided to take a two year Hypnotherapy Course which, as well as enabling me to help women to feel in-control during their birth experience, allowed me to work as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. In this role I am able to treat phobias (fear of flying, spiders, needles as well as smoking cessation and weight control). Recently, I have completed a Cognitive Behavioural Course which is used together with Hypnotherapy to successfully treat many debilitating conditions which include depression and anxiety issues.

Finally, in 2010 I completed the Marie Mongan Hypnobirthing Course where I have great pleasure in teaching couples strategies which enable them to achieve calm, relaxed and empowering birth experiences.

Thank you for taking the time to find out about Hypnobirthing Hampshire. I hope to meet you soon.
